I've noticed the passenger seat belt is very slow to recoil and sometimes doesn't recoil at all. I had Towne look at it last fall and was told I would need a new recoil mechanism. Has anyone experienced problems with seat belts recoil slowly?
Sorry, but with something like that, I wouldn't hesitate to get it fixed ASAP...actually i probably would have had it fixed then and there....Don't even want to think about that failing when I'd need it the most...

Venno, it sounds like it is just an annoyance, like they just dont retract into the door quickly when you exit the car. It doesnt sound like it is a safety hazard as I am sure they will still lock appropriately in the event of a quick stop maneuver. Probably just a weak or gummed up spring tensioner.
The passenger seat is rarely in use so I tend to overlook the condition of the seat belt. I intend to have the recoil mechanism fixed. I was just wondering if anyone else had a similiar experience and might be able to offer a simple solution short of replacing the recoil mechanism.
We have a non-mini vehicle that doesn't recoil as it should and it still locks just fine - not too much help for you ofergus. Have you queried NAM?
