Watkins Glen International Opening Day Sunday 4/26/09

Watkins Glen Racetrack Opening Day is Sunday, April 26th. WGI has 3 paced laps for $20 (unless it's gone up to $25), and the racetrack does this as a charity fundraiser. We've been doing this since 2003, and it's always a good way to start the driving season!

For anyone coming from the west & north, we'll meet again at 8:30 AM at the Canandaigua Wegmans, 345 Eastern Blvd, Canandaigua, NY

The first entrance at Watkins Glen International is the entrance used for this event.  We'll meet at the 3rd entrance off County Road 16 at 10 AM, then head back down to the main entrance once all the Minis are together.

I'll have 2 way radios on channel 7, sub channel 21.

Once again, any one who is interested in lunch, we will invade the Crooked Rooster Brewpub, Franklin St in Watkins Glen.  (They haven't kicked us out yet!)

In case you want to look at the menu ahead of time, like I do!

Usually, we meet at Wegmans, take the scenic route to Watkins Glen, meet up with the southerners & easterners at the Ticket Office, wait our turn for track laps, then do a lap of the old village Gran Prix course, and have some lunch. 

Anyone else think this sounds like a good idea?  :)

We are brand new Mini owners. This sounds like fun, and why else would you buy a Mini!!!

VB, I'm really sorry to hear that, but methinks PepperMINI is wise. On the upside, it sounds like you'll have a little more time for Motoring with your new best friends. Who knows who you'll meet in MINI world...the sky's the limit.
