Cammie is so excited.

Let's really plan a picnic meal together this year!

ETA: We are staying at the Bartlett Inn, they (obviously) allow animals in their cottages for $15 per stay. www.bartlettinn.com

Nicole, you're back! And with freaking cute pics of Cammie to boot. I'm so glad that you guys are coming. I brought the grill last year (along with Veggie Burgers), and we didn't use the grill, and heard it rattle the whole way home (and the veggie burgers got tossed)! If we do have a cook out, we'll have to make more definitive plans. Oh, and I want to do the trivia this year. Anyone want to form a team?

I need to start studying my Mini trivia.

I'm also attending MOTD this year too!

I really want to go to MOT, but now that registration's open, we're faced with the reality that because of her Cushings disease, ted may not be here for it, or (also b/c of the disease or old age or ???) she's really gotten averse to heat / warm weather. She never used to be like that--used to be just the opposite in fact. So I guess I'm a little hesitant to register at this point. I'd hate to get there and have it too hot for Ted so one of us wouldn't be able to participate.

J says I should go by myself if I want. On one hand I wouldn't mind doing that, but I really wanted this to be a 'family affair'. No more dogs for me / us--I can't stand the heartbreak.

Oh, by the way, Nicole and Mark--Cammie is a great lookin' dog!

It's usually cooler in New Hampshire. Ted might like it there.

Cathleen is right...it was much cooler there because of the elevation. You guys should come! I want to see Ted, too.

Ted should definitely come! Last year it was cool and overcast and drizzly on Thursday and Saturday and really rainy on Sunday. I had to wear a sweatshirt and pants to be comfortable. Friday it was kind of warm, but I might be remembering it that way because I hate to drive with the AC on and the leatherette gets kind of hot - it probably wasn't as bad as my memory is telling me.

Friday it was hot in Rochester in the morning, but by the time we got to Vermont, it had cooled off significantly, and then it downpoured for a while in the mountains. Was very cool by evening.

Definitely planning on going again this year. (Maybe I should make reservations...) Of the years I've gone, only one was warm in the day time (75-80), but still cooler at night. Usually it's been 60-70, and in the 30s-40s on top of Mt Washington.

Thanks all for the encouragement! I've wanted to go to MOT since last year, since before I got tedscar! I just don't want ted to be uncomfortable, 'cuz if ted's unhappy, so are we! It is good to know it's relatively cool up there in NH; that would please ted immensely! So, we'll run it through executive session and try to come to our senses very soon.

In the meantime, here's a picture of ted hot on a cold trail a couple days ago. (Notice the trace of Oxygen Blue in the collar my sister knitted for her...)

OK, if we go, what does that mean about having ted on the grounds of Attatash? Since they don't allow dogs, are dogs not allowed on the grounds? Seems like the no dog policy could severely limit our ability to join in the fun in and out of that hotel.

There are only two activities that are happening at/in the Attitash - the friday night Pub Quiz mixer (last year there was an ice cream social too) and the Saturday night party. The Saturday daytime events are at the Loon Lot and Mt. Washington where we saw plenty of dogs last year.

We'd like to do the Pub Quiz on Friday night but are in the same boat about not being able to bring Cammie. We probably won't go to the Saturday night mixer, but could organize a dog-inclusive gathering somewhere else!

To make a long story short, here's the official word from Jack (the Attitash Hotel contact for  the event).

He said dogs are not allowed in any of the rooms at the Hotel. Officially, they're not allowed in the parking lot, but they tend to look the other way as long as people (and their dogs) act responsibly.

He said the Market Place Motel about a mile down the road does take pets. Their number is 800-862-1600.  He also said Attitash's Food & Beverage manager's daughter has a "dogsitting service" if that would be helpful at all.

For us, I think this means you're right Nicole. We'll come up with a dog-friendly thing to do when we can't partake at the Hotel. I think ted would enjoy that!

Oh boy! As I look out and see snow on howling winds, I can hardly wait...I love ted's excellent adventures!

well after looking at the other hotel tedscar mentioned we are going to stay at the cabin we rented, it is cheaper and seems more dog friendly. I guess when we go to NH we want less hotel and more rustic. =)
