Brian and I just got back (late last night) from our annual trip to Florida. This year, we went to Sanibel Island. The weather was great and got better each day that we were there. We saw a ton of MINI Coopers (all convertibles, except for one). It's usually the other way around up here. I think that Sanibel/Naples is a MINI Cooper convertible utopia. Pepper would like to go one day.
We did a Segway tour of Naples, and just loved those Segways! We tried to sign up for a tour of Sanibel, but they didn't do a tour on the day that we wanted to go. We both want Segways now, but agreed that UNY was not the place for one (especially where we live). We'll have to wait till we retire in Florida!
We also went to the Thomas Edison/Henry Ford winter estates in Fort Myers, and saw some of the original Fords. Apparently, Ford gave a car to Edison, who crashed it his first time out, and he never drove again after that. Too bad.
We've been thinking about the snow tubing, and it's kinda hard to switch gears from laying on the beach to tubing in the snow. Our blood needs time to thicken back up!

Ahh, just caught this post Holly. Welcome back from Florida! Sounds like you had a great trip! You missed our Florida-like weather but fortunately, you got home just in time for the return to winter!
Maybe if Edison had had a MINI, his luck would have been better. That's a great story about him and Ford.
When Ted, Jill, and I were in Gettysburg last fall (the day before winter started here) we saw some folks tooling around the roads through the battlefields on those Segways. It was a group of about six or eight and they were traveling in a pod; looked like fun.
I'm off to Florida on 4/19 for my annual visit. BUT, this year on my way back from Florida....... I'll be visiting North Carolina for MINI's On The Dragon!!!!
This is going to be the road trip to end all road trips!!!
I'm eternally jealous of you. I wish that we could come too! Unfortunately, my work responsibilities interfere with that timing. I hope that you guys have a fabulous time!

I second what Holly said, but I'm not the jealous type. Yours sounds like a GREAT road trip. Be safe and have a ball! I'm holding out for MOT (no D), but of course, we'll want to hear / see all about your adventure at MOTD!

I think you would die on a Segway on Mt. Washington! They're not made for steep inclines.
