Hey Everyone--it's been mighty quiet here for almost two weeks. I don't know about the rest of you but we're getting a boatload of snow--nearly two feet in the last couple days and another 6-8-10 inches expected Saturday. Poor tedscar is not looking good, but with all this snow, it hasn't left the garage much either. It's time for that to change !
So....what do y'all think we should do for our next event, hopefully in the next month or so? PepperMINI's all decked out in snow tires and it's just not right not to put them to good use. I had a blast seeing all the yaehoos & their MINIs at the Toy Drive and beyond. Everybody and all their MINIs wee in fine form. Whatdya think we should do for an encore?
I like the ice skating idea. Always love donuts, too. Not so sure about the snow ball fight, because I usually end up losing. We could go snow tubing too (there's that place near Batavia).
Pepper got a bath the other day, and her top froze. The difficulty with the convertible in the winter is that the back window gets all dirty, and there's no wiper. I'm going to look into getting some mud flaps, which will hopefully help out a little bit!

Kassy and I won't be going anywhere, she seems to be very temperamental lately, I don't think the snow has helped at all. I'm thinking I might have to buck up and buy some winter tires.

Snow tires are EXTREMELY helpful. Well worth the investment. I bought mine on Tire rack for $74 a piece, and had the VW dealer install them.

I didn't have anything in particular in mind. Just thought it would be fun to do something with MINIs and their people (and their dogs of course). Whatdya say--should we should shoot for Valentine's Day weekend? Maybe on the 15th so VB can join us???
I think we'd be up for a snowball fight or something of the sort...that is once the temps come back in to positive numbers... We'll be keeping an eye out for a firm date.
In the meantime...stay warm and keep it between the ditches!
Any ideas? I've been pretty swamped lately but every once in a while trying to think of what we might do for a Feb. event. The snowball fight could happen, but where? Other ideas? Anything between Rochester and Buffalo? Back to Letchworth? (That might actually be pretty cool in the winter!) Other ideas?
On another note, I've been contemplating going to this winter driving event: http://www.pittstopmini.org/. Anyone been to it or one like it? This winter has made it a little difficult to plan anything, but now that I can see my MINI again (finally got to hose some of the road crud off it!), it just seems wrong to keep it tethered without putting it to good use.
If we do something, I would vote for a Sunday as the top choice so VB can join us.
I still vote for sledding in Batavia at that tubing place.

Letchworth is closed during the winter as far as I know. I also think the tubing would be fun I recently went to the tubing place at Colden it was a lot of fun.

Puh-leeze!!! I drove from Ithaca, NY to Los Angeles California, and back to Boston, MA. Buffalo to Rochester is a breeze. And, when Pepper had to get fixed over the summer, I had to drive to Orchard Park 4 times.

Sounds like a vote for tubing? Alright, I'm / we're in, assuming we don't have some awful storm going on and that we can accomodate Ted in some fashion. I'm up for either place (I don't know anything about either one.)
VB, can you make it on the 15th? Would you make it if it wasn't just too darn far (could be all the way to Batavia!)? How about everyone else? Time--morning? afternoon? Post-play play / meal / whatever?
Who's in? What are we doin'? (Let's NOT go to LA (unless we take the twisty roads!))
Based on my prior year records, MINIs on Top should be opening for registration soon (I registered Feb 21 of last year). VB, if you're going, you'd better start driving some longer trips, so that you get used to driving a distance. It was 9 hours from our house last year.
We're up for Colden on the 15th. My hubby says that's a good place for tubing.

by the way. i bought a blue duck with devil horns for my mean mini. hehe. once it gets nicer out im going to mold it to my antenna or glue it somehow.
Mold or Glue to your antena??- You got a stubby??
Ooo that reminds me I gotta get a Duck for my CZ MINI antena before MINI United..small Yellow Rubber Duckies seem to be rare around these parts of the europe...
What about a slip and slide drive event...Find a large open snow covered parking lot or flat open space and do doughnuts in it...Then after you could have doughnuts and cider or Hot Chocolate
...and no... I wasn't on anything when i came up with this Idea....I've heard of it done before....

Tubing at Colden? http://www.kbski.com/content/pages/tubing (or do people want to Slip & Slide as Venno suggested? Maybe we could combine events!)
Everyone present OK with Sunday, 2/15?
Looks like it's $15 for two hours. Which two hours would be good?
Cathleen said she'd send out a mass email if we get a semblance of a plan together, so we'd better get to it if we want people to make it in two weeks!
Actually we found out when we went that you get 2.5 hours just so you know. We also found if you get there earlier you get to go for many more runs without waiting in line. In the afternoon the line gets long, so the earlier the better.
Well one or the other. And yea i got the micro stubby. i wanna make it look like the duck is my antenna haha. My yellow one just kept falling off in delta sonic and i would make them get it for me haha.
