Old Toad Pub 9/19/08 (Rochester) 8 PM

The date is still uncertain, but I thought it would be nice to meet up with some UK Mini owners on their cross country drive from San Francisco to NYC. Stu (Goonery on MINI2) and Angelina (Pappilon) are driving through this way, to NYC via Niagara Falls. They have to be in NYC ny Sunday 9/21, but when exactly they'll make it here is still unknown.

They were in San Fran for the Magical Mini Mystery Tour last weekend, and are touring the US along the southern route now. More details here:

If the timing works out, we could try meeting them in Niagara Falls as well. :)

RE: Old Toad Pub 9/18 or 9/19/08 (Rochester)

Sounds like a good time! If it happens to be on a Saturday Mark Cammie and I could probably make it to NF.

Happy (almost) 600th post!

Hey, C.,

Let me know.  Probably a definite for NF, a definite maybe for Old Toad.

We're interested too, depending on timing. Let us know when you hear from them.

Stu & Angelina (and Quack Quack Jack & Jill) were in Charleston, SC yesterday and headed north. They expect to be up here sometime tomorrow, but I don't know yet if they are headed to Niagara Falls first or Rochester.

If Niagara Falls, I'd aim to try to meet up at Andersons on Niagara Falls Blvd. If Rochester the Old Toad Pub. Time is still a bit uncertain, but hey, they've just driven fron San Francisco.

Watch this space, or for more instant notification, PM me your cell phone number and I'll call with a plan. (Or as my brother said recently "We don't have a plan, but we have a rumor.")

This sounds like a fabulous gathering. Unfortunately, I don't think it's going to work for me, but I'll be with you in spirit(s). Have a great time!

OK, the current rumor is that Stu & Angelina are coming to Rochester late tonight, going to Niagara Falls for the day tomorrow, and we'll end up at the Old Toad tomorrow evening. I expect if say 8 pm that would be a reasonable estimate.

Just in case you want to check out the beer list before you go...
http://www.theoldtoad.com/

The address is 277 Alexander St, Rochester NY 14607, not far from the Goodman St exit off 490. (North on Goodman to Park, left on Park to Alexander, right on Alexander, and it's in the big building down a block on the left from the corner of Park & Alexander)

If anyone who is planning on coming can post here, that will help me look for you, since the pub has a few nooks and crannies.

That shouldn't be a problem. Unless Stu & Angelina get stuck at the border if they venture over to the Canadian side...

Going to a concert at Kilbourne, will try to stop in after. Will have my Mother in Law in the back seat, but she is usually up for a party.

Well, I thought for sure we'd have an update by now about this gathering. How'd it go?? Well attended? Good stories? Good beer? Everyone accounted for after the event?

Hope it was a great gathering!

Hope the leaves are more colored up than in the Adirondacks.

It was a cozy gathering with Cathleen (aka YellowMINI), Stu and Angelina from the UK, and my hubby Brian and I (oh, and Quack Quack Jack and Quack Quack Jill, also back from the UK and fresh from their cross-country adventure with Stu and Angelina!).  We had a lovely time; Stu and Angelina are very fun and kind folks, and Cathleen is a true friend indeed.    aww

We had a great time at the Old Toad, and a good time was had by all, people and ducks! There were 2 known Minis, and we parked next to a 3rd, though I think that was just a chance encounter. :)

I'm finally getting to upload my pictures, so the travelling duck journal can continue. See link for more info about the ducks)
