Has anyone seen a canoe on a mini?

I see that the specs for the roof rack are 165lbs.  My wife and I like to go conoeing but right now I have no way to get my conoe to the water.  Thinking aout getting the roof racks for next spring.  Any thoughts?

Yeah, Actually interestingly while i was in the States a few weeks ago, I was going out from NYC and saw a MINI with two kayaks straped to a roof carrier...Didn't manage to get a good look though since it was going the other way....

I transport 2 kayaks on my mini with the factory-installed roof rack... about 85-90 lb. total.  I don't see why a canoe wouldn't work.

I transport one kayak with the foam pad contraptions and straps, I lust for the Yakoma carrier.

Next spring I will have to get roof racks.  Thule has a system that looks better built than MINI's.  It's a little cheaper too.  I wish I could see the MINI racks in person to see how well they are built and how well they are secured.

That' what I want the thule not the yakoma.

Especially for the pre'07 I would want the thule not MINI racks, because the thule does not require drilling into my roof.
