'tedscar' is finally home! (I know this 'cuz I've been out to the garage twice already to check .) We had a day of it, but the car was a dream to drive home (and this is the non-S). How fun! I've got a lot of learning to do on all the gizmos, but just the joy of driving that little stinker put a huge grin / smile on my face. Perfect day to bring tedscar home!
Thanks for putting up with all my questions, ideas, and other maniacal shenanigans. Let the fun begin!
Nice looking MINI. Gizmo's haa! I still do not get the wiper setup. Have fun. So did the MINI win on the test drive...lol... -s P.S. What's ted's view? It looks like Ted is want you to stop taking pictures and for you to go shotgun.

Ted looks very satisfied in her new MINI. I hope that she can enjoy it for a long time (and her owners, too!!).

Hey Scott--ah yes, I think Ted was quite ready to get Motoring. She'd been waiting for two hours when I snapped that picture. You know how it is picking up your first MINI and all...plenty o' details to attend to. And I just wasn't quite comfortable signing off on it until I took it for a test drive...and it passed!
The real test drive(s) were yesterday and today. OMG, that car is a blast! Yesterday, my better half kept warning me to slow down and tolerated a little 'spirit' on the curves. Today, she seems to have changed her tune somewhat. Still giving me the 'slow down' warnings (for which I'm entirely grateful ), but in my peripheral vision, each time we'd approach a curve (or even the sign of an upcoming one), she'd reach for the door handle and say "Oh boy, here we go!" BUT, I heard a little glee in her voice and saw a little sparkle in her smile. Methinks she likes tedscar!
CONGRATULATIONS! And a fine looking vehicle it is! Ted and Otis can now motor together! LOL Happoy Motoring!

Congrats.... I love the yellow interior. Have fun motoring!
Thanks everyone! klownkrr, I think Ted is absolutely psyched about motoring with Otis (who wouldn't be, right?)! Ironically, though she posed for the camera, Ted has yet to actually ride in the car. Pretty hot over the long weekend and better half Jill and I had to check out the 'handling'.
Now what was that you were saying Scott, about reminders to slow down? Well, apparently Jill read the script. She was good about those reminders. To my benefit, I might add. Less than a minute after one or her reminders, we passed a county sheriff with (radar) gun ablazing. Fortunately, I was a model citizen and didn't get a ticket. By Monday, the reminders to slow down were a little less frequent. It wasn't that I was intentionally speeding, but the poor little MINI just doesn't seem to like to putz along. However, glancing over at Jill, I saw she got a little twinkle in her smile when we approached (and accelerated just a tad) for the curves. Methinks she's liking it!
I think Ted and Otis will have a blast. They can lean against each other on the curves...
As for the yellow interior, it seems to be a hit! I just missed (and choked a little on the price of) the checkerboard dashboard trim. That, I think, would have been a perfect accent with the yellow color line and blue exterior. Plus, it would have captured that adventurous, racing side of Ted...
i wanted color interior or the checker dash but i can afford that much haha. i will add it once i get my mini. the dash that is..... i love the yellow test car. you feel like your in a race car with all the decals and checker dash haha.

I splurged for the blue interior. I wanted the piano black dash but couldn't justify the cost. I have a feeling though that when I get her I'll save a little money to do a little customization.

Well, Ted's had her car about a week now and we love it! Loaded her in it this afternoon for a great dog run up at one of our county parks--she had a blast! Here's a few pics to make it official...
Oh my. Love the new pics. Got the pillow and all. By the way - MINI makes a cover insert for pets to protect the seats and sidewalls of the back of the car. Think I saw it in the catalog. -s

For custom seat and boot covers go to: www.PoochStyle.com These are super! Otis has one & loves it! (And it matches Elroy!)

Well, as you can see, Ted's got a pretty cushy set-up (she manages to get that pretty much wherever she goes--or even those few times she stays home) but I'll check the PoochStyles out.
We're finding that Ted really likes her new car! OK, so maybe I take the corners a little faster than I did in the Subie. No problem for Ted. She seems to like the way the MINI sticks to the corners and she doesn't get jostled around. We've got the rear boot area (created when the seats are down) stuffed with foam padding and she seems to like to hang out back there. She's a funny one...
tedscar has had the proverbial royal treatment the last couple weeks. Last week it got it's first bath, clay, and wax. Tonight, wash and "Hydro" wax. I must say, I think it's looking pretty good. Hopefully, it won't get too much crud between now and Saturday--the gathering at Letchworth!
Love the photos. Love the car. Here are a couple. Don't be scared. I most likely blew out the transmission myself. I was on my way to Bemus Point last summer to DJ my class reunion. The radio was blasting 80's tunes and I wasn't really paying attention to the driving. I love that car soo much that I had it fixed.
Congrats Ted ,Otis, and better half its a wonderful looking mini. Nice oxygen blue and yellow.Ted looks happy. Will see ya at Letchworth rain or shine maybe will be lucky and it wil be mini drops.seeya CJ ps just got my Mini Adventure Field kit hehe

I thought I noticed one of your fleet was missing today. Meant to ask how this all turned out but got too busy with other things (ducks, MINI memerobelia, cider, etc.). Hope this one is back on its' feet by now!
Oh yeah. I got a brand new transmission last summer. Haven't driven it far since getting back from Chicago in late July. Still has I 90 gas in it. Need to take the time to get it inspected. Don't want to press my luck out of town with that IAFF union sticker.
Oh. I messed up. It was a new clutch. And the worse thing was that my brother had to pick me and my DJ equipment up in his Scion box vehicle. That and what it cost me.
Well, it's been too long without any pictures of Ted. Here's a couple of her in her MINI. As you can see, she's quite comfy in it. It suits her well! I had nothing to do with the 'Diva' pillowcase, but Ted thinks it works great!
(VB, I think she looks a little mean and evil in the first one, don't you? That's how she gets when waiting for a Milk Bone )
She's just so darn cute! In the first picture, it looks like she's trying to put you into a trance so that you'll give her donuts and scratch her belly....

Ted went to Gettysburg over the weekend. She took Jill and I along and we all had a great time! Lucked out with beautiful weather and great roads outside of town in the surrounding countryside.
Love the pics! It looks like you guys (gals/dogs) had a fabulous time! I went to NYC today and saw a MINI there...it had a dent on the door, which was sad.

I love the pics... My favorites are the cavalry one with Ted and the super long leash and the last one. That is definitly me and the dogs after a long day.

Holly, whatever does one do in NYC for the day? You went for the day? Sorry to hear you saw a disfigured MINI--that is very sad! No wonder you had to come home.
CaliBean, that picture of Ted and the cavalry really cracks me up. I wish the leash wasn't in it at all but Ted was too full of herself to trust her off the least unless we were out in the open field. And of course, she could have been court-martialed if she'd been caught off-leash! Ted was sacked out by the end of the day, but I figure that beats the alternative. All in all, she (and we) had a great time!
