I noticed that NAM has an interior LED Light kit available for about $100 for the Clubman S model. Has anyone installed it on their clubman? If so, was it difficult to do/how long did it take, and are the lights overly powerful?
I see that someone has photos posted of their Cooper on the NAM site, but its difficult to tell if the camera exposure effected the light intensity.
Also, as a side note I have two 9" neons run through wiper fuse + relay fuse to a hidden toggle on my current car, and would like to transfer them to the new clubman when it arrives. Has anyone installed their own neons (under front dash) and are the empty toggle switches (for example a sunroof toggle w/o sunroof) something that can be used for this, or do I have to run my own wiring to a seperate toggle switch hidden somewhere in the car?
I cant vouch for everyone, but I have only noticed one neon equiped car come through here over the years. All of the toggles, both sunroof area and window switch area, go from toggle to printed circuit board to a wire harness plug. The toggles are not individual plugs or contacts. If you felt this install is a must, maybe look into the knee bolster switch for the OEM driving lamps, i do not have a pin diagram available.
Thanks TOWNE, I figured that the stock interior lighting would be sufficient, but I already have the lights in another car, and it didn't take too long to install them there, so I figured it would give me something to do on a rainy day.
I'll figure something out I'm sure...Probably an underdash switch or something unobtrusive. I like the interior of the car, and would like to keep all changes unnoticed until I choose to turn on lights, etc.
I'll try to follow up on this post when I figure out what is going on and the install, so that anyone else considering the same thing might take a look. Won't be until Aug. though.
