Busy Times, and the Duck Thief Strikes Again!!!

So, I was taking Pepper in to Towne MINI for an oil change and annual inspection, and don't you know that on the way there, a big rock NAILS my brand new windshield, and I had to have it fixed the next day.  Luckily, Ray Sands Glass fixed it for free, without even going through the insurance company.  The windshield was replaced in February because it was hit by a rock back then (on a warm winter day).

Pepper had her first birthday on May 14th, which we celebrated with a thorough cleaning (and we had some ice cream too).

It seems as though Pepper's windshield and the ducks that YellowMINI has provided are big targets.  Last year, when we went to Watkin's Glen, Cathleen gave us a duck to put on the antenna, which we named "Beneduckt" because he was holey (holy) like the pope.  Beneduckt was abduckted, so Cathleen kindly provided a replacement duck, which we named "Benji" (for Ben Jr.).  Well, today we noticed that Benji has suffered the same fate as Beneduckt.  Apparently, there is a hot market for ducks with holes cut in them.  Next time we see Cathleen, maybe we'll try for a third (or perhaps I should just hang a bag of rubber duckies from my car with a "free ducks" sign).

My hubby is currently looking to purchase a new vehicle, and although I've tried really hard to convince him to buy a MINI, he's not there yet.  I keep reminding him that every time we do something with other MINI members, he always comes away saying that he has "MINI envy" and might get one.  Somehow that wears off too easily (I'm not sure that I understand).  I'll keep working on him, though.  Any suggestions regarding the power of pursuasion will be taken into consideration.

I hope that all of the convertible owners are enjoying these nice days!

I'm still working on him. I'm not confident that I'll convince him, but I'm still working it. I'll try and hold him at bay until MOT, but he really wants to purchase soon.

Pamlico's looking for a good home for his Mini. That is one very well cared for Mini! biggrin.gif

I have about 100 ducks left at the moment, and will most likely have more soon before MOT. The duck thief would have to be very persistent!

If it warms up at all, I'm hoping to do some weekend runs for ice cream, and maybe some drive in movies.

Avon would likely be the first one. Maybe with a stop at Tom Wahl's first?

Not to be pushy here, but the MINI we're selling is available for a test drive.

If Brian gets Pamlico's JCW, a lot of people would have MINI envy toward him!

You guys and gals are so awesome. Just the mention of ice cream makes me happy. The other day, I received a notice in the mail that my Company is sending to me six pints of Ben and Jerry's with toppings and an ice cream scoop, and I started jumping up and down in excitement.

As far as drive in theatres go, there's also one in Middleport (out towards Buffalo) that has an ice cream shop in front. Props to all of my Buffalonian peeps. Just a suggestion if anyone is interested in a drive, movie, and ice cream.

For the duckies, I will have to thread them all the way up my antenna so that I always have reserves!!!

Pamlico, are you in the Rochester area? I know that I can look that up, but I guess I'm kind of being lazy.

Hi - Yes, we're in the Bushnell's Basin area.

Holly,
I'm just curious.  Are you getting the PPG glass when you have your windshield replaced?  In my experience, and only my experience, the PPG is tougher, more resistant to cracking, than the stock glass.  I've had the windshield replaced twice, but now have the PPG which has taken several hard hits on the 290 and 90 which I use to get to work.  I also have learned that the big semis are best at picking up nuts, bolts, etc., and launching them back into your path!  I now avoid following them in spite of their wind hole punching ability!  Bill aka Cogman
P.S.
Could it be that at the pace you normally drive, the ducks are "bailing out" on their own?  I've had an Irish duck on my antenna for about two years now, but of course, I never go over 100.  biggrin

Oh, and Pamlico, I recognize where you took the photos of your car (right next to the car between Victor and Bushnell's Basin, no?). I work right up the road in the Woodcliff development.

Hi - I think you're rightsmile. Pics were taken along the canal just outside Bushnell's Basin on Rt. 96, heading towards the village of Pittsford.
