I am sad with Winnie. My top is not opening on one side. One of the nicest days this winter and there will be no top down motoring =(. I hope Mark at Towne gets Winnie fixed up for me.
Sounds as if it is going to require a new "Gate and cable" assembly on both sides, it is a repair that will generally take 4-5 days. I will call you in a bit, were crazy here today, it has taken me 45 minutes to respond to this as it is.
I forget who told me this, but one of my MINI friends with a convertible was driving home morning after new years with the top down. The whole night he hadn't had a drop of alcohol, but none the less a cop pulled him over thinking that he was intoxicated and had the top down so that he could sober up....somehow the cop just didn't understand why my friend would be driving in January with the top down...I thought of Jack and his story of his boss who commented about that crazy MINI driver who was driving around in winter with the top down (atleast i think it was Jack...wow Im bad at putting names to stories) Maybe one day i can also join the ranks of crazy MINI'ers who drive in winter with their tops down
