I'm sure they already have movies planned for then. I can't imagine it will be anything too educational, but I think it would be fun.

I know of a good place for ice cream on 38A, but we could meet at the Finger Lakes Mall, head out for ice cream and then back for the movie.

We are thinking of heading to Johnny Angel's, a burger place in Skaneateles for dinner beofre the movie at 6 pm. We could meet at the mall at 5 & head over to the restaurant. Just for a point of reference at the mall, how about near the Bass pro shop (in the parking lot)?

We will probably still in Rome (family reunion) at 5 or maybe heading out about then. We could probably meet up at 5:30 ish. Do you know if they have veggie burgers there? (wife is vegetarian)

Yes they do, and they are actually really good, i like the portabella burgers, but their own vegie burger is really good too

To throw it out there at the almost last minute; the Vintage Drive-In in Avon (5-10 minutes from 390 in Rochester) is showing Transformers and 1408, we could move the meet to that one....

I'm cool with either one, but aside from your hubby and I, I'd tend to think that this is more about the cruise to/from the drive-in than the movie itself. smile

Speaking of which, I haven't been to one since I was about 10. What's the deal these days? I'm guessing the Mini is going to be too small for all 4 of my party to see well, so do we bring chairs (yeah right, like I have room in the mini for folding chairs biggrin

) and sit outside the car with the windows rolled down for sound?

We would have left the boys home with a sitter, but couldn't get one we trust on such short notice. Plus I'd feel bad, knowing how badly they both want to see Transformers and Ratatouille. Kids ruin everything. bleh

Auburn it is! (I'm looking forward to the cruise too, hopefully the Hubs will let me drive a little bit) Since we'll be coming from Rome it will be easier for us to go there than all the way back to Rochester.

As for the DI itself - people do bring chairs and sit outside the car with the windows down, and I'm sure that there is room in the boot for some chairs.

There is also a grassy space up front where the kids could stretch out on a blanket if you/they wanted.

If you're coming from Rome, you might want to just meet us in Skaneateles at 6:30 (Unlless you need fishing equipment at the Bass Pro Shop) Johnny Angel's is on Jordan St in Skaneateles, just off Genesee St (Route 20), take a right at the light in the main part of town (just before the lake view & pier on 20)

If I remember right, there is a big parking lot on the right on Jordan St, behind the group of restaurants and shops (Doug's Fish Fry is right there).

Skaneateles is still my favorite Finger Lake.
