Sounds like fun, Minis on a kart track! When drivers of other cars ask me about my Mini, I usually describe the handling as "Gokart-like", so I guess we'll find out how true the analogy really is. I checked the GVBMW site but didn't notice a way to enroll in this event. How do I sign up for this event?

Here is the schedule for the day and some related info:

No pre-registration. Registration is usually at the event, and includes a car tech inspection.

A typical days schedule looks like this:
7:00 am Setup begins
8:00 am Registration opens
9:30 am Drivers Meeting
10:00 am First car off
12:00 pm Break for lunch
1:00 pm Afternoon runs start
3:30 pm Site cleanup complete

Entry fees for all autocross events are $25 for BMW Club members and $30 for non-members.
Free this day only for MINI/Mini drivers.
Non Mini, and non BMW cars are welcome - and common.

Cheers,
Jack

Looks like I have to work that day, but if there's a plan for a gathering afterward let me know.

Trixie and I will be there! =)

Do you think a cold air intake on the mini will be ok for tech inspection?

The only thing it may affect is what group your car runs in.

See everyone there biggrin

The tech. inspection is to ensure that your car is safe for running around the cones. Typically the BMW club groups all MINI's together, regardless of mod's.

I think the CAI actually slows the car down a bit. But I really love the Blow off sound from the wastegate and hearing the turbo spool.
