'Cuse MINI Rally

I'm not sure how many to expect, but judging from the response that I've gotten so far I'm expecting at least 15-20 MINIs.

For directions, type "Marcellus County Park, NY" into http://maps.google.com
or follow these directions:

From the NYS Thruway go on 690 East (twd Syracuse)
Take 695 to Route 5w toward Auburn
Merge onto Route 5 W toward Auburn
Take the Newport Rd. Exit,
Make a left onto Newport Rd.
Turn Right onto W. Genesee St.
Shortly after that turn you'll need to make a left onto Elm st (Rt 174 S) (its a fork in the road, but heads up...its easy to miss..if you do miss you'll end up on 5 East, take the Newport exit and try again)
-on 174S, Enjoy the curvy roads)
Take 174 until you get to East Main st. (Traffic light)
Make a right onto East Main St.
Make a Quick Left onto South St
Make a left onto Platt Rd.
Enter Marcellus County Park Parking lot
Have fun

I'll give directions for the Rally at the Park, It'll be apx 2 hours up and down hills and curves around Otisco Lake...I tried the roads out and they are A LOT OF FUN.
If you have any questions, send me a message

Actually we're in Farmington, just off the Thruway.  We can work out a mini-caravan as the date approaches for those coming from west of Syracuse via the Thruway!  clap.gif

I just love going to the track .oh well , Plus every wednesday 5pm-till9pm the logcabin in marion ny has car night with music and bar-b-que. this thing is huge and would it just be awesome if a bunch of minis decended opon them. Well that is my thought for the day. Happy motoring.

I think the time & distance would make it tough to pull these together, but 2 events on the same day is a good problem to have! biggrin.gif

I was thinking that those who are coming from the WEST of Syracuse, could meet at the Clifton Springs Rest Area...on the NYS thruway 9 o'clock ish... the Copi is not far from there...(Should be able to be south of Syracuse in an hour from that point).... I am planning on going UNLESS it looks like rain or is raining.. if the weather is bad, I need to go to work... bleh

Sounds like a great plan! We're going to wait at the Thruway ramp near us from 8:30-8:40.  Here's where.

Then we'll head onto the Thruway and meet anyone else at 9:00 at the Clifton Springs Rest Area...on the NYS Thruway. According to Google, it'll take a good hour to get from the rest stop on the Thruway to the park @ Syracuse.

Hey all -

We had a great time at today's rally.  Venno, you really did your homework on that route.   I live in Syracuse and I saw roads I never knew existed.

Sorry we had to bail at the last minute on lunch.  I hope the hostess at the Dinosuar didn't want to kill anyone for changing the number of people for the table so much.   We had a call from home and had to run unexpectedly.

Adios.

Neil Fitzpatrick

Hi Venno,
Nice to meet you and all the other folks at the rally. I must say you really know the back roads around Marcellus! You must spend alot of time cruising the country lanes in the Syracuse area. Great Rally! It was fun to see the smiles on people's faces as they watched our column of Minis pass. I tried to attach a few photos of the rally but the uploading doesn't seem to work.
