RE: 2009 JCW

I agree! It isnt even snowing yet and I can't wait for spring to come again! Do you have a specific Exige lined up or is that just when you'LLC start the hunt?

I have a certain amount of money I want to save up for a large (hopefully 1/4) down payment, so my monthly payments aren't outrageous. I also want to get all my student loans paid off first. June is just my best guess as to when I'll be ready.

I put a WTB thread on LotusTalk and I've already had a few people respond. Hopefully everything goes according to plan. A Lotus has been my dream car since I got my license and I finally have the opportunity to do it, so why not!?

There has always been something about a Lotus. From the first time I saw a Europa (immediately knew it was a Lotus), to the 23B sports racers that are grouped with Cobras and Trans-am Camaros, Lotus has been special. I sincerely hope that you are able to sell your car as is, it is something special. I really think that the members on this forum will not be upset if they can't get your mods for cheap. Let me know if you need to borrow the challenge wheels back in April or so, so that you won't have your car on blocks for a week getting the wheels powdercoated. I have a set of 16" snows on the car now, but those won't clear your brakes. Big step up to the Lotus. Don't forget money for your winter car...... Mike

Definitely have to agree that a Lotus is amazing. Certainly a MINI is awesome and unique but a Lotus is just another level of awesome haha! I'm envious every time I see one around time but I guess I'm leaving that to be my mid-life crisis! Drew, do what you have to as you won't hear me complain (so long as I get a ride at least...).

I'm just trying to get my jollies out before I have to replace "fun" with "practical" while searching for a new car.

And of course I'll give you a ride! (although I should probably get one of those deli number counter things for that! hahaha) I'm looking into maybe getting an OLD R50 as a daily driver, so hopefully I'll still be able to attend the meets.

Thanks for the offer Mike, I might take you up on that!

I'm also open to serious offers now if anyone is interested in the car as-is.

Happy holidays everyone!

The part-out process may or may not begin this weekend. I haven't spent any money on the car in a few months, so I haven't been able to work on it. I'm getting bored, so I figure I might as well take some parts off to get my hands dirty.

First things coming off are:
-FMIC
-Hotside boost tube
-M7 Carbon Fiber JCW splitter (you need to have the JCW front bumper)
-M7 J-brace (front strut brace)

I want to keep the intake and oil catch can until I'm about to sell the car. All the parts are in great condition besides the average installation marks. The FMIC does have a few little dings from rocks though.

Any interest? If nothing local, I'll throw it all up on NAM.

I'm interested in the hotside boost tube. How much effort is it to put in?

It's a little bit of a pain because the tube is bent in weird directions, but it's not too bad. Shouldn't take more than an hour your first time.

You can get the instructions here:

Well I'm definitely in for the boost tube, when would you want to meet up and where? I'd like to get the FMIC but I won't be able to swing that until next month heh.

I'll have to see if I get time this weekend to pull it off first before I can tell you when. But where are you located?

Here's what I hope to have off this weekend. ALL PRICES INCLUDE SHIPPING!! Prices can be lowered if you come pick up the parts (OP, NY). I will have pictures up on NAM after they're taken off the car.

- Forge FMIC. Small dents from rocks and stuff but overall almost perfect. FORGE painted in blue - $540
- ALTA hotside boost tube - $75
- Custom hotside boost tube. Small tear in the top coupling, but not even close to all the way through the silicone. Works just as good as any other boost tube out there, it's just not a name brand. - $30
- BSH oil catch can & dual boost tap/block off plug with several feet of extra hose - $175
- Rear seat delete (DIY) - $15 (PICKUP ONLY)
- ALTA intake - $175
- M7 J-Brace - $240
- M7 JCW CF front splitter (the bottom is scratched from bottoming out a few times, but otherwise it's perfect, and isn't on my car for "wintermode") - $250
- Base Cooper spoiler - $0 even trade for an MCS spoiler. Gloss black.

Parts still available:
- Custom hotside tube (CEREAL - let me know the next time you're in Buffalo. If I haven't sold this by then, you can have it for free if you pick it up)
- Rear Seat Delete
- M7 Carbon Fiber JCW front Splitter
- M7 Strut Brace
- ALTA Intake

Coilovers and rear sway bar are probably coming off in about a month depending on the weather.

Intake, splitter and strut brace have sold.

I've decided to take the coilovers and rear sway bar off this coming weekend. I'm not sure if anyone on here wants any of this stuff, but I'll keep updating just in case.

So I doubt I'm the only one wondering why! A Lotus and a JCW??? The JCW would certainly be an entertaining winter ride!

Must be rough having your daily driver being a JCW and your weekend car a Lotus! I'm quite jealous! Congrats and hope your able to get it out of the garage at least a few times with our rather unpredictable weather.

I'd say it's a pretty good setup. :) Although the MINI feels like a Cadillac after driving the Lotus for the past few days lol.

New set of summer wheels/tires. For the first time I finally have decent tires on this car, what a huge difference!

I have those tires.  They're pretty quiet and comfortable yet sticky enough to have some fun.

I think I prefer black too but I needed a change and I figured I would get bored with 2 sets of black wheels. :)

I might look into trading my joey modded/angel eye'd headlights for a set of stock ones though... I think they look odd with the silver wheels.
