Finger Lakes region SCCA rally 10-11-2009

Finger Lakes Region of the SCCA has a Road Rally scheduled for 10-11. The format is very similar to the rally run in Avon last May. This rally will once again consist of an easy to follow "tulip" style set of route instructions and questions for various things along the route with predominatly a railroading theme. Total length of rall is about 65 miles Start/ finish is the Yard of Ale House in Piffard, NY. More information can be found at www.FLR-SCCA.comsmile

As a note of caution the rally does include a dirt road that is about 3/4 of a mile long that is smooth and well graded and a seasonal road that is somewhat ( to say the least ) rough for about 400 yards. Other than that the roads are OK and it is a nice drive. The leaves were good yesterday and should improve by next weekend.

It's on Sunday!

Which means I can make it.  Do I need a navigator for this or can I drive solo?

Either way, I'm totally there!

Have a good one folks!

We're going back to Letchworth tomorrow for a huge art thing. Won't be able to make the Sunday drive but hope you all have a blast!

Just got back from Letchworth (now Saturday evening). OMG--that place is absolutely stunningly gorgeous right now! The colors are incredible and the light today was fantastic. BeeArrGee, hope you have time to take some pictures tomorrow on the rally (don't worry about your times). Who needs New England for leaf peeping?????

I have a friend with a british racing green R53 who is going to join us as well. It will be her and her partner's first road rally. (Though they did go to the 50th birthday in Toronto...)

I'm stoked. I've never done a road rally either!

Hey E, we live right off Broadway (rte 20) just before Alden. It is a pretty simple route to the Rally. Along 20 to 63 & then south. The Yard of Ale is right on 63. It is about a 45min drive from our house. I was planning to leave @ 11:30. We will drive down with you, & yes YOU lead this time. You name the time if you want to get there earlier.
BTW we were @ the MINI 50 in TO as well. I remember seeing their MINI there. Only one of them was in the car at the time, but she was napping so I didn't say Hi.

Rob

We could meet @ the Alden Tops plaza (12775 Broadway for those with GPS).
If we plan on meeting @ 11am & leaving by 11:30 or when everyone shows up,
which ever comes first, that should give us plenty of time to get there.
Mini Tobassco, are you from the Buffalo area?  I can't remember.  I know we have met
at other club events.

I'd love to go, but I have a lot of homework that needs to get done tomorrow, so I don't think I'll be able to make it (also too short notice to find a navigator as I'm sure other people have procrastinated and have homework to do tomorrow, too)

Have fun!

Totally fun.  It couldn't have been a lovelier day for it.

And I actually uploaded my pictures in a timely manner.

Great day for a drive. Had a lot of fun. Even though this was not a MINI event, there were plenty of
"made for MINI" roads we got to play on.
