Another winter tire thread.

I've scanned through the other tire threads but still have questions.

I've used Discount Tire for many years and noticed that there are none in the WNY area.  I'm also familiar with Tire Rack.  Are there any good local tire dealers for winter tires?

Also, what winter tires have worked well on your MINIs?  I already have the original 16 inch wheels that came on my convertible (I was never able to sell them), so I'm not looking for a complete wheel/tire package, just tires.

If I do need to order from Discount or Tire Rack, who do you recommend to mount them?

Thanks

Blizzack ws-60 just bought from tire rack, no place has much option that I have found. And it will be hard to find winter tires because of Canada's new law that everyone must have winter tires. Dunn tire seemes to be good for mounting, or just take it to the MINI dealer.

Besides Blizzacks, I've read many MINI owners like the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R. Don't have personal experience with either one though I am running the older Blizzak Revos this winter. I haven't driven enough on them to judge them and I guess this model isn't made anymore.

The Nokian site is here: http://www.nokiantires.com/product-group?group=1.01

No problem.

Looking forward to seeing you, your MINI, and your new winter tires at the Pirate Toy Fund on 12/20 biggrin.gif .

If I can get the tires in time, I'll try to be there. I may be on the road to Texas already.

I would wait until you get back from Texas to put on winter tires, if you are taking the MINI. Especially if you get Blizzaks. They are made to only be used under 40 degrees or so, they will wear right out in warmer weather.
