7/15 - "The Italian Job" (MAY BE) playing at Bemus Point floating stage

Hi MINI fans,

Though I know it's a right of passage before ordering for many MINI enthusiasts, I didn't see 'The Italian Job' until weeks after I'd ordered mine. Now I see an announcement in the Jamestown newspaper that this movie is scheduled to play the floating stage in Bemus Point on Chautauqua Lake, Tuesday July 15 at 8:30 PM.

When I looked at Bemus Point's 'official' website, it says James Bond Goldfinger is playing in that slot. I don't know which is right (and I'd be happy to research it if anyone's interested) but it seemed only fitting that there be an assemblage of MINIs if indeed The Italian Job is playing that night. I assume it would be the contemporary remake, but I don't know that for sure.

Sounds like fun, and a nice place to see a movie! (I have to work...)

Don't know whether it's the original or new one--sorry. There does not seem to be an "official" contact to find out.

The fine print in the local listing (which does seem to confirm that The Italian Job will be playing) says "All movies are free & visible from both sides of the Floating Stage. Sound broadcast on 104.9 fm and is also available on inexpensive headsets which may be purchased from area merchants."

I guess the phrase "Better late than never" does not apply here.  Too bad I missed out.  Did you check it out?
